Mom and dad need to get away too; this time it was off to Lake Tahoe for the Trans-Tahoe swim. 6 of us braved the icy waters in a relay across the massive lake, just for the fun of it. The weekend started off with Irish coffees at the Buena Vista in SF with some friends, and ended in Tahoe with even more friends.
I can't believe the little princess is four already even though she sometimes does act 13. We had a great time with all her friends playing summertime water games.
One of many trips down to Kansas over the summer was spent at a parent-child basketball camp. We got to meet the entire jayhawk team and staff, stay in the dorms (right after the students moved out, gross!), and have an awesome weekend in Lawrence.
Spending Easter in New Mexico allowed us to escape the Minnesota spring, which happens to be nearly indistinguishable from the Minnesota winter. We were able to cheer grandpa to a 10K finish while getting some much needed vitamin D. Like always, we of course hit all the local eateries we could and saw the sights of the city with the kids. This time however, we made the trek out to Aguirre Spring to climb a mountain as high as the trail would take us. Although we ended that day with 3 scraped knees, it was something new and exciting for the kids and quite enjoyable. Maybe next time I'll talk somebody into running Baylor Pass to get out there.
