School Pictures

Time flies as they say, and his first set of school pictures are in. I can't believe he's that old already.

Minnehaha Falls

First day of Kindergarten!

It's not every day you send your first born off to their first day of kindergarten. Excitement all around.

First Triathlon!

Although a little indifferent at first, the little man had a great time during his first triathlon. A 25 yard swim, 3 mile bike, and 1 mile run is a long way for a 5yr old to move. Timing chips and mats were even in place to capture every split. The results are in. T1 could use some work. In his age group he had the fastest run time and ended up 3rd overall, missing the victory by just over 1 min. Had T1 not taken ~6min, he really would have dominated the field. Most importantly though, he and his cousin had a fantastic time and want to do it again next year.

Spanish Invasion

Family from New Mexico and Spain came to visit, which of course was a blast. We went to a science museum, a baseball game, two zoos, swimming almost daily, and a little bit of water skiing. They did need some coaching, however, on how to get started with the skiing...

...and posing for pictures.

Two!

Two years have passes since bringing home the gorgeous little girl. We had spent many hours assembling a swing set in the back yard in preparation of an outdoor summer birthday party. Her older brother had an outdoor sledding party back in January when it was -25 deg, so this one had to be more pleasant...right? Mother nature served us up a day with a heat index of 125. Good thing we had ice cream cake on hand.

Team In Training

Once again this year Jeanine and her dad raced for a cure in honor her mom. They participated in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's athletic fundraising group called Team In Training. Thank you to all who supported TEAM Ossy Possy in reaching their fundraising goal! Jeanine and here dad did not disappoint in their athletic performance either this year. Both brought home hardware for the second year in a row by each placing second in their age groups. Way to go TEAM!

4th of July

The forth of July in MN is awesome, except for the 100+ bug bites I received. We didn't take too many pictures this year because the kids didn't get out of the lake for 3 days straight. Fine by me! In fact, the only thing that did get them to stop swimming for a few minutes was ice cream sandwiches and the spectacular fireworks show put on by Uncle Bob.

Spring Time

Spring time in Minnesota is great. No bugs yet, not hot yet. Just some time for some light yard work (helping mom and dad plant ~30 plants/trees) and climbing trees. Of course, spring time also means the beginning of race season. We were able to take the kids to go see their grandpa compete in his first every open water swim. Because his furthest open water attempt before that morning was .4 miles, I thought there was a distinct possibility of needing to rake the lake when he told me he signed up for a 2 mile swim. However, not only did he not sink, he did remarkably well and enjoyed himself to boot. Nice work Grandpa!
